Imprinted'Imprinted' is a personal story and social history of reading and the development of a literary culture in the Caribbean. It explores the places and spaces of such a cultural journey, during and after the colonial period, in particular in Dominica, the author's birthplace. Entwined within this critique is the story of the author's own reading history, from being a child reader devouring the library (Black Power heroes and romance fiction) of her
