Description

Matching Mole - Live At The BBCThis 1972 BBC Live recording is the perfect proof of what a band like Matching Mole could do in concert during their too short existence. The quartet playing was way more free and adventurous than in studio and the tunes were often stretched out and built to dense instrumental climaxes. Dave MacRae electric piano, Phil Miller guitar, Bill MacCormick bass, Robert Wyatt drums, vocals. A great live session from a key group in the Canterbury rock scene

the instrument which sparked his love of contemporary music

and one can hear it on their very first recordings from 1980: beneath the songs‰۪ amphetamine stutter and sonic tachycardia are strands of rock ‰۪n‰۪ roll DNA belonging to Johnny Thunders and Keith Richards

but not particularly well-regarded

after releasing maybe just a couple of singles

Since they were having success with bad arrangements

LP - clear/black splatter vinyl

Plaintive cello strains melt into motorik beats

Stripped of Eno‰۪s EMS Synthi AKS and Minimoogs

come August 12th

Robert Fripp's personal favourite of his many collaborations with Brian Eno

Later that year

with two of Peter Mitchell’s iconic photographs of 1970’s Leeds
