Description
Thurso Railway StationThurso Station (there is a similar station at Wick) is the furthest North Station in Britain. Opened in 1874 on the Sutherland and Caithness Railway from Helmsdale. It was absorbed by the Highland Railway 10 years later as a route from Perth via Inverness. The line is still operated by Scotrail and is worth a trip today to savour the glorious scenery on route. The base size (to help with model layouts) is approx 208 x282mm without canopy in OO gauge

Tunnel: The alternative build is 2 entrances to a tunnel (the alternative parts for this are indicated by “T” and allow the assembly to be split into 2 separate parts for each entrance)

Broomhill Station is the current terminus of the heritage Strathspey Steam Railway
The Kit includes the station building with a small goods/parcel shed
these plans were shelved
the station was decommissioned and demolished in 1975 replaced by a new station to the East (away from the lochside)
and the Ballachulish Quarry Centre where you can see the model made

The timber building survived until the 1980s and its structure shows common features with several stations in the GSWR region
