Lapis is a metamorphic rock that has long been highly valued for its rich blue hues. Back as early as the 7th. Millennium B. C. it was being mined in the Sari Sang mines in Shortugai and in Afghanistan. This crystal was also used in the funeral mass for Tutankhamun, somewhere between 1341 and 1323 B. C.
