This is the second of two antique moth specimens I purchased from another dealer who found them in a bible from the 1920s along with pressed flowers
late 20th century vintage Orthodox cross pendant on an 18” steel chain
Presented as found in its original frame
The record dates to 1975 & features the untrained Frances Vantassel singing church songs
but never one with an assemblage under a glass panel
measures about 22” long
The piece has a few flaws: A chip at the base & the basket is missing its handle
and a crochet tool
It’s made of simple base metal with paste jewels
but Victorian women crafted floral bouquets and wreaths from every conceivable material: Leather
There’s an amusing tale about a girl who takes shelter in a Hearse House during a thunder storm
